Herningsholm Museum

Distance: 1.31 Km

Herningsholm Museum is located in Herning's oldest building from 1579. Here, life on the heath is told - and about the stories it has inspired, and the role it has played for the textile industry, which later came to characterize the area.

Cannons, wool socks and life on the moor

In the atmospheric space of the old manor house, you can get close to the author Steen Steensen Blicher and life on the moor in both text, images and objects. But you can also experience the story of a manor house that went from housing a small army and cannons to creating a large business on sheep and wool socks - and which became the start of the Central Jutland textile industry. When you have finished the exhibitions, you can go for a walk or enjoy the packed lunch in the manor's small, fine gardens - or poke your head into our museum shop, which sells books, toys and other goodies.

Museum Midtjylland

Herningsholm Museum is part of Museum Midtjylland, which consists of four cultural history museums, each of which tells a piece of the history of Central Jutland. Both the one that is several thousand years old. And the one that still lives in memories, people and craftsmanship. So stop by, discover history - and experience a Central Jutland both before, now and tomorrow.
