The four cornerstones - The wrestling time, a hiking trail in Ørre

Distance: 13.47 Km

The hiking trail 'Brydningstime' is the first stage of the cultural project 'The four cornerstones' and has been created in collaboration between Sinding-Ørre Citizens' Association, Local History Archive Sinding-Ørre, Herning Municipality, KOMO A/S, historian Charlotte Lindhardt and Museum Midtjylland as well as benevolent, private landowners .

The break-up period covers the period 1870 to 1900, when Ørre parish underwent major changes. In 1870, Ørre was a poor moorland parish with big differences between the poor in the poor colony Sammelstedby and the rich farmers along the streams. The religious movements with Grundtvigians, internal missionaries and judges stood strongly against each other and were, among other things, the reason why Ørre got both a meeting house and a mission house within one week in 1889. At the same time, it was a time when St. St. Blicher had already written about the Kjeltringeballet, and where Evald Tang Kristensen still went around collecting legends, folktales and shows.

Many good forces were present, including the pastor Enevold Terkelsen, the apostle apostle Ole Nielsen Nygaard and the school teacher Iver Holmgaard, who characterized the area with new associations, lectures and information. Around 1900, Ørre was a changed parish. The heath was being cultivated, plantations had arrived, and the youth had discovered the possibility of education and social mobility.

RODS
The 'wrestling time' covers several routes from 2 km to 18 km and can be used by pedestrians and cyclists. All routes are marked with signs, and along the way it is listening to audio stories, where some of Ørre's deceased personalities "add voice" to the stories. Among them are farm owner and author Konrad Understrup, the priest Enevold Terkelsen and Johanne Tygesdatter from the poor colony in Sammelstedby. All the audio stories are produced by the Sunds company KOMO A / S and narrated by professionals.
