Højrisparken

Højrisparken is centrally located in Ikast and was built in the 1990s. Only a few cities have such a large collection of significant, modern Danish sculptures as Ikast. 

From the 1970s until today, a significant number of modern sculptures have been installed. The initiative for this originally came from a private landowner in the eastern part of the city. 

He invited 5, then controversial, young artists to each create a work that was to be erected by the new roads in the area that would later be called Højrisparken. The street names: Bjørn Nørgårds Vej, Sven Dalsgaards Vej, Egon Fischers Vej, Per Kirkebys Vej, Poul Gerness Vej tell who it was about.
