Gødstrup Lake is a shallow lake of approximately 45 ha. The lake is at its deepest point approx. 4 m. The lake is surrounded by fields, hedges, meadows, forest and scrub.

Herning Municipality is the landowner at the northern part of Lake Gødstrup. There is free fishing with a fishing rod from the bank of the marked stretch in the period 1 May to 31 March, with a valid fishing licence: www.fisketegn.dk
It is only allowed for children and young people under the age of 16 to fish in Gødstrup Lake.
Minimum dimensions and closed seasons must be observed. Fish below the minimum size must be released as soon as possible. The pike is protected in April and large pike must be released as far as possible.
Fishing is only allowed from sunrise to sunset.
