Herning Municipality is the landowner of Holing Sø. There is free fishing with a fishing rod from the bank of the marked stretch in the period 1 August to 31 March, with a valid fishing licence.

Minimum dimensions and closed seasons must be observed. Fish below the minimum size must be released as soon as possible. The pike is protected in April and large pike must be released as far as possible.
