Løvbakke Zoo

Distance: 5.38 Km

53 fallow deer live in the 50ha zoo just outside the city of Herning. You can visit the animals and enjoy the beautiful natural area from Løvbakke Nature Center, Løvbakkevej 32, 7400 Herning.

The animals are mixed doe, calves and deer. All year round, new things happen with the fallow deer. There is the loss of the antlers, the new antlers grow, the calves are born, the antlers are swept and then there is the rut, when there is fighting.

Inside the zoo there is a very beautiful varied nature with heaths, oak scrub, pastures, fields and coniferous forest. A construction of paths makes it possible to go for a walk or run around the entire zoo. There is also a 1,7km long asphalt path where strollers, wheelchairs and scooters can get away easily.

In Løvbakkerne you will also find a wide range of family-friendly activities and facilities such as a nature playground, nature center, dog forest, toilets, barbecue hut, tarzan track and tent site.

Løvbakke Dyrehave was inaugurated on 13 December 2013. The fallow deer that moved in came from the disused zoo in Silkeborg.

Access rules:
- You must keep your dog on a leash and it must not come close to the fallow deer.
