Mr. Plant and Knudmosen

Distance: 1.06 Km

Søndre Anlæg, in the middle of Herning, was designed by Enrico Dalgas and built by Hedeselskabet in 1896. It is one of the city's oldest facilities and appears largely as the original plan.

The place is interesting as a cultural-historical example of the way of thinking about taming nature. Today, the large trees form the framework for cultural events and are extensively used for recreational purposes. Mr. The facility is a good starting point for a hike in the Knudmosen nature area.

The children's book "Good to see you again old Jas"
A children's story has been written for the park: "Good to see you again, old Jas". The book is about 5 trolls, 2 water rats, 1 garden snake, owls in the bog, barn owls, the wolf in sheep's clothing, the bog cone and a nice crow. When you put some of the names together, they give the name Enrico Mylius Dalgas. There is a map in the book, so you can walk around the story, choose one of the characters, and get a good experience story, where you can either whiz, arrow or "fly" around the park.

Herning Municipality, has felled some trees that had already been attacked by disease, and cut some figures out of wood from history. They stand so you can easily see them on your tour of the park. It's a troll mother with her wrap, one of the owls from the bog and the wolf in sheep's clothes. The story is written by children's book author Charlotte Lindbjerg, drawn by Miro Bruna and the figures in the park are carved by sculptor Stig Poulsen.
